Imagine what of happened if we bought Joe Cole instead of RVDV?

I read somewhere that Harry said he would not have bought VDV if he has closed the Cole deal. How huge that would of been for us? As it is now VDV is arguably our best player (or at least one of our best 3) and a HUGE bargain at just just 8-9m. He is also the only person which is providing us steady flow of goals this season and is our top scorer. Cole on the other had is injured (again), barely played a game and not a regular and what is worse it seems he is a typical sick note type of player which to be frank we can do without (we have our own ones in Woodgate and King). I think if we had bought Cole instead of Vaart we would had been at best fighting for a 5th or 6th place.

I really didn't want him at Spurs whether we signed VDV or not and was pleased when he signed for Liverpool. He is constantly injured and I have never seen what the big deal was about him. So pleased we got Rafa though, always been a class player.

Yeah, i was shocked when we sealed Rafa for just 8m. Not too long ago when he was in Germany he was considered one of the best AM players in the world.

RVDV is one of my fav players. He really has been a help to the Spurs.

I heard we will bid 10m for Catermole in the summer, that could be a decent purchase and is the type of player we need in the middle.
