With our starting center-backs out injured, and others still out injured, how is Harry going to deal with the defensive problems?

God knows, all that i can see is Corluka moving to the Center back role (which he is at best a filler player in that role) and maybe play either Huddlestone (i know it hurts) or maybe give Dorian Dervite a go (i have never see him play, but he is suppose to be a center back). It is getting a little frustrating that with just 5 games into the season we have all our center backs out and Modric (arguably our best player) also out. Not sure how we can stop the goals leaking in the next few games

sounds like Bassong will be ok for the weekend - whew. If not then Corluka and Hudd in the middle, Hutton out right (dear lord please improve), hopefully lennon and Kranjcar on the wings, Wilson and JJ in the middle and hopefully Defoe and Crouch up front. For the Carling Cup game i'd rest a few players and let the fringe guys have a go eg Bentley, GDS, Pav, Crouchy, Dervite, Bale, Hutton etc

Not very sure about Huddlestone..Corluka should be ok and guess Bassong would be fit to play...

@Chris - Hopefully we'll find away to stop the goals. Might involve the return of Gomes! ;-)

@Stephen - JJ constantly confuses me. On the one hand, he is a decent player who can make things happen. On the other, he is a lame duck that just watches the match go by without contributing much. I def want to see some of the fringe guys in, especially GDS.

oh and looks like Dawson is getting an hour v Preston so hopefully he comes through that alright and can sit on the bench sunday. @Dan - JJ is frustrating i agree as he does drift in and out of games but when he is on form he is good. Once Modric is back we have no real need for JJ. Yep be good to see GDS get a run.
