@Michael - you got lucky at the end of the day... City showed themselves to be worthy competitors, even if United had a lot of the 2nd half and had lots of good chances to score. Grinding out results when you are not playing at your best is a recipe for success for any team, and it's one of the reasons why Manchester United have been so successful over the years.

@Mark - you are absolutely right. i wasn't being cynical - it's one of the things that has to be admired about utd...the amount of times it's looked like they are going to lose or not get the result they want, only to turn it around at the death. but, in the match against city, you got a little bit lucky! ;-)

Great game and one that proves more so now than in recent years that United must sit up and respect the Blue side of Manchester. For too many years City have quite rightly been seen as second class, whether due to league position or buying power or a combination of both. This year the playing field has been leveled and perhaps there is a small chance that City could upset the big 4 cartel. Unboubtedly the ommision of Adebayor weakened City but this should not deflect from the travesty of City's defending. Too many times the back four were out of position and Fletcher exploited our supposed strength (in the air) to great effect. Some tweaking to be done but on the whole a good performance.
