Arsenal are never going to bid for Everton's Phil Jagielka, no matter what the Daily Star claim. I'd be surprised at any bid from Arsenal for him and there's no way Wenger will splash £18m on him.

For the record, I think he's an excellent player. He's only got 3 caps for England, but deserves more. He's tremendously versatile: he can play anywhere in defence or in central midfield. I've even seen him don the goalkeeping gloves for Sheffield United (when first-choice keeper Paddy Kenny got sent off) and I saw Jags keep a clean sheet. Now that's versatility for you! And I tell you what, based on that performance he's got safer hands than Fabianski, that's for sure.

So I'd love to see him at Arsenal, but it's not going to happen. Sorry.
