The Andy Pipkin character from 'Little Britain' would make a great Arsenal manager. Matt Lucas, the guy who plays him, is an avid Arsenal fan. So he's well qualified.
What I like about Pipkin is he's so decisive: 'I'll have that one!' He always changes his mind, but at least he makes a decision.
I can just imagine Arsenal in Pipkin's capable hands with Lou asking him about the club's goalkeeping situation...
Lou: So what's it to be then...Schwarzer or Green?
Andy: I want that one (pointing to a video of David James on Sky News)
Lou: Are you sure? You said he was too old for this club.
Andy: That one.
Lou: Alright, if you're sure. (Leaves the room and returns a few minutes later).
Lou: Right, it's all arranged. David James is going to be our next goalkeeper.
Andy: I don't like him...he's too old.
Yes, of course, it would be just as annoying as the situation we have now at Arsenal. The David Dein-less club takes so long to conclude deals that it's embarrassing. It's as if the club are afraid to make mistakes on the transfer front. Surely it's better to take a calculated risk than sit with our heads in the sand pretending our keepers will come good. They won't come good. We've seen the best of Almunia already. And we may not have seen the worst of Fabianski yet...I wish Arsenal would let Andy Pipkin do the honourable thing and push him off the end of a cliff. Only joking!
