week 37 premier league fantasy football preview
Por Footie Phantom
This weekend I had my first run in with a Fantasy Football game on 11kicks.com.  I found the format to be quite enjoyable on this site. You are only allowed two players maximum from each premier league squad. There are no limits on the players you choose by ranking or salary cap. This allowed me to focus less on spending my allotted salary on players and look more into who’s going to be a big point getter. My team was as follows, GK Friedel, DEF Evra, Turner, Baines, Carragher, MF Malouda, Cahill, Lampard, Young, ST Tevez Captained, and Bent. I finished with 62 points which seemed quite good but was ousted by three competitors who had captained Lampard (32 points) and Gerrard (20 points). Without Lampard playing I would have kept up with my competitors with 46 points (my score without Lampard) versus 39, 43, 43, 46 and 47 (competitors minus Lampard). This would have left me in a tie for second place! If you discount Gerrard from those teams as well, of which two had him captained (20pts) I would have fared quite well! Without the captain featured (doubles your selected players point total) I would have ended up in second place, two points off of first. This shows how valuable the Captain feature is. You need to gain as many point as possible from this to push you to the front of the pack.  From now on I will be much more selective with the Captain on my squad. Finding a quality goalscoring threat facing a weak team is your best bet!

My week 37 early team selection is as follows.

GK- Gomes

DEF- Dawson, Bramble, Dann, Vidic

MF- Ballack, Nasri, Young, Faubert

ST- Rodallega, Jerome

I do have some doubts about Nasri and Young at the moment. I will probably be making some changes later in the week.  Currently I have my GK captained which I will most likely change. However I am banking that spurs will blank their opponents.
