I saw that on the newspaper few months ago, I WAS SHOCKED when I was reading. 

In 1993, Shanghai Shenhua Football Club got their first foreign manager. Then they went to Eastern Europe for training. Dynamo Kiev knew that Shenhua needs some foreign players, so they introduced some young players to Shenhua.
    Among them there was a young and handsome forward.
    But after the Experimental training , the head of the team thought that this young man wasn't a good player , so they refused this forward.

    6 months later. Eruopean Champions League. He made a hat trick in the game between his team and Barca.
    In 1999. He led his team entered the semifinal in Champions League.
    After this season, he went to AC Milan.
    He got a golden ball in 2004.
    In 2006, he led his national team entered the quarter final in World Cup.

I don't think I should tell you who he is.
