Freeman - Arsenal's new Ian Wright? Or is he a Lupoli?

Let's make no bones about it. The new Yeovil loanee from Arsenal, Luke Freeman is a born-predator.

If he continues to develop the way he should, he could end being Arsenal's new Ian Wright.

He has to keep his feet on the ground though, or he might end up being Arsenal's new Arturo Lupoli.

Freeman, meanhwhile, is delighted to have secured a move to Yeovil and is looking forward to gaining some much needed first-team experience.

The 18-year-old striker, who recently joined the Glovers on loan from Arsene Wenger's Arsenal until 31st December, is a England youth international.

He signed his first professional contract at the Emirates in April after netting 19 goals in 24 appearances for the club's Under 18 side.

Freeman, who also scored one goal in 11 reserve team outings, says there is the possibility of extending the deal until the end of the season.

He said: "I'm happy to be here, it's a nice town and stadium and everyone has been very welcoming.

"I'm getting to an age where I want some first-team experience. I've trained with the first team a few times as well and it's all been good experience.

"I'd like to go back to Arsenal in December or the end of the season and maybe look to play in the first team."

You have to admire the kid's confidence. If he can keep his feet on the ground, this guy will go far.

But I said the same about Luke Ayling, who's now dropped down to Yeovil from Arsenal permanently after an initial loan spell. Football pundit and ex-journeyman Steve Claridge had waxed lyrical about Ayling's reading of the game, but he does seem to lack a bit of pace.

Maybe the same criticism could be levelled at Freedman, so despite his promise he needs to keep working on his anticipation. He's certainly no slouch, but he doesn't have Wright's lightning speed off the mark. However, Freedman appears to be more blessed with pace than Lupoli, now plying his trade in Serie B with Ascoli.
