Alan Shearer was a Newcastle legend as a Player, but will he be a Newcastle legend as a manager?

He was given 8 games to save Newcastle, most people hope he stays longer. But can he save Newcastle in such a short space of time?

One reason that he definately can do it is because of players returning from injury, when Joe Kinnear was in charge alot of players were injured but now loads of players are returning!

Another reason Alan can do it is because Newcastle are by far the strongest team in the relegation battle, players like Martins, Owen and Nolan win games and Newcastle will need 100% from them. If you look at the other teams fighting for survival you'll see that Newcastle have a better squad than all of them.

The fan are another reason Newcastle can stay up, Newcastle's fans are by far the loudest and are not scared to have a go at any of the players. They fill St. James' park every saturday even when they're struggling, now thats support.

The final reason that i can think of is that its Alan Shearer, even if Newcastle go down he will still be a hero, therefore he has nothing to lose. He will get the players focused on scoring goals, something other managers have failed to do.

Altogether i think Newcastle will stay up under the guidance of Shearer. There are reasons why they will go down but if you compared the two you would say that the arguments 'for' Newcastle staying up are more persuasive.
