Portsmouth make O'Hara deal a priority

Portsmouth
have highlighted
Jamie O'Hara
as a potentially key figure in their fight to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
The struggling south coast side had their transfer embargo lifted by the Premier League earlier this week, meaning they are now able to sign players on loan or free transfers. They also closed the gap to second-bottom Hull with a 1-1 draw against
West Ham
on Tuesday night.
Avram Grant now has less than a week to add to his squad as he looks to save Portsmouth's Premier League status, but chief executive
Peter
Storrie claims O'Hara could be the man to help drive the club forward.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live it was a "boost" for Grant and the team that they can now look to "do something" and bring in new faces before the transfer window closes.
"We're looking to bring in two or three players, ideally four if we can and that would include bringing Jamie O'Hara back, which is our first priority now," said Storrie.
"If we can bring in three or four we believe we have a chance of staying up."
Portsmouth midfielder
Aaron Mokoena
told the official Premier League website earlier this week he had a "110 per cent belief" that the club could avoid relegation to the Championship.
However, the
Premier League odds
would seem to suggest otherwise.
The
football betting
also indicates that
Burnley
and Hull will struggle to stay up this year, while
Wolverhampton Wanderers
are also likely to face a tough fight.
