Manager Danny Wilson was delighted with Swindon`s impressive display as they edged Brentford 3-2 in a thrilling encounter which keeps their hopes of automatic promotion alive.

A brace from Bily Paynter and a Danny Ward strike sealed victory for the Robins, which sets up a potential promotion showdown against fellow hopefuls Millwall next weekend, but Swindon must rely on Leeds dropping points in order to snatch the second automatic spot, which Wilson believes takes the pressure off his men.

He said: "I defy anyone to say teams have nothing to play for, and Brentford showed that. They wanted to keep their run going and made it very difficult for us but we showed excellent energy and deserved the win. The pressure is all on the teams around us because they have to win the game but no one expects us to win it."

He added: "There were some good goals, the first was terrific with good movement, a great ball in and someone on the end of it.

"We'll treat this week exactly like we've treated the last two weeks but it's going to be a fantastic week because there is absolutely no pressure on us."

Brentford's recent run of form came to an end and Bees boss Andy Scott was disappointed that his men made some basic errors.

He said: "It was an exciting match but we made three poor errors for the goals, a carbon copy of what happened at Griffin Park.

"We based our run on doing things right and we didn't do that. The third goal was typical of how they exploited what we should have been doing and weren't.

"You can't give Billy Paynter chances like that but if you look at the side we had out we are running on empty but still gave a good account of ourselves.

"We are very close to Swindon who could go up automatically, they have good players and they do make a difference."
