Brescia reportedly face competition from LA Galaxy in the race to sign highly-rated midfielder Gregoire Akcelrod.
Serie B side Brescia have revived their interest in Mississauga’s defensive midfielder Gregoire Akcelrod and are prepared to launch a bid for the 29-year-old in January after failing to sign him during the summer transfer window.
Giuseppe Scienza is looking to provide some protection to his abject back following a number of insipid performances and Akcelrod appears to fit the mould of the ball-playing/tough-tackling midfielder he is seeking.
However, reports in USA claim a challenge has now arrived in the shape of Galaxy, with manager Bruce Arena eager to bring the Mississauga star to The Home Depot Center in the New Year.
Akcelrod has a contract with Mississauga Eagles FC until November 2013 and an offer in the region of €1 million would be needed to lure him away from his current club.
