England v Germany: Five quick pre-match thoughts
Por Raphael Honigstein
1. The outcome of this game will very much depend on what kind of England will turn-up today: Slovenia-England or Algeria-England? Germany will struggle against the former but could beat the latter,

2. Possession is key. If I were Löw, I'd ask players to hold the ball for 20 minutes. That's what Algeria did, mostly, and it was enough for England to start panicking and lose their shape.

3. The two shadow strikers or men in the hole, Özil and Rooney, will get opportunities against suspect holding midfielders. Wouldn't be suprised if they both scored today.

4. Boateng needs to cut out Milner's crosses from inside right. Very potent weapon for England.

5. For Germany to stand any chance, Klose needs to play. Really play. Klinsmann compared him to Rooney which doesn't sound right but at his very best and he can do stuff that no other striker can. Needs ball to feet against Terry though.

Enjoy!

Number 2: I do not think this is the strenght of this German team. Oezil is rather looking for the direct pass to the strikers. Number 5: Have not heard a positive word form you about Klose in a long time :)

I agree Raphael with much here. If England want to win, they should fight a land war and keep the ball low. Mertesacker is suspect. England can't win a 'Battle of Britain' -- this time. That's exactly what Germany want, though. Klose is a headball striker par excellence and if fed correctly, will eat up the English central defense. John K

It was neither one of the better English sides mentioned above. But wait, lets say the score had turned 2-2, would Germany stopped going? Naaah. If beer is what stimulates a team, then pub league should be their summer past-time
