Senderos leaves Arsenal for Fulham - good riddance!
Por 360footbal...

It always puzzled me how Senderos clocked up over 100 games for Arsenal. The only defender I've seen in an Arsenal shirt in recent years worse than him was Stepanovs. As well as Torres and Drogba, Senderos was embarrassed by the likes of Heskey, Agbonlahor and even Kevin Davies! Yes, Kevin Davies!

But who knows? Maybe Hodgson can turn him into a decent player. Maybe they even work on defence at Fulham. We have to buy the finished product at Arsenal when it comes to defenders because we never seem to develop centre backs. Can anyone tell me at centre back who's improved at Arsenal in recent years?

Gallas was good at Chelsea. Sol Campbell was good at Spurs. Vermaelen...I'm not 100% sure about how good he was before Arsenal, but he seemed to fit in straight away, so I'm assuming he already had what it takes. I had big hopes for Djourou, and he did show signs of improvement but his injuries have put his development back. Kyle Bartley looks a good prospect, but has he really improved since he arrived? I'm not sure. Luke Ayling looked a decent centre back to me, but he's been offloaded.

It's like I say, we have to buy the finished product because we don't produce centre backs anymore and we don't improve them either. By the way Mr Wenger, we need at least two centre backsad maybe three if Gallas, Silvestre and Campbell leave. Please don't try to fob us off with one!

I'm glad Senderos has gone, he was really a waste of space, but I wish him luck. Hopefully Arsene has something up his his very long sleeve, but he definitely has to buy experience!!!

What a horrible little cunt you are, how you can slag a player like big phil off is beyond me. This is a guy who never gave less than 100% for the Arsenal and he never once ran off to the press moaning and running the club down. Also to compare him to Stepanovs shows you know fuck all about football. You new breed of supporters really piss me off.

You don't honestly think Phil was any good do you?

Cracks me up how people can go on about the 'new breed of supporter' as if they really know what they're talking about and yet they can't back their opinions with anything substantial. They just swear and think they're so tough and clever. I can compare Stepanovs to Senderos because a lot of people actually rated Stepanovs, until he got found out at Old Trafford. Best not say I know F.A. about football unless you can back your bigoted views with something other than inane swearing. But I guess that's all you cyber warriors can do!

HA, what you givin it the cyber warrior comment for, I class you as a new breed supporter because you clearly are one if you have`nt seen worse than Senderos. Believe me, there have been far worse defenders than him at the Arsenal, but that was`nt what what pissed me off(sorry, i swore again), what annoyed me is you slagging an Arsenal player who always gave a 100% for the club. As it happens I think it was the right move to let him go, but I wish him all the best and I will always remember his contribution to the FA cup win and run to the ECL final. I guess your the type of fan who see`s Perry Groves on tv and goes, what a legend, but it was little rats like you who used to boo him when he was playing for the club.

nah, trust me, I've never booed an Arsenal player...I don't even boo ex-Arsenal players...by the way I said Stepanovs was worse! Do you remember Jeff Blockley? He was pretty useless a lot of people said, but I didn't compare him because it was pre-Wenger. An unfair comparison, I thought. I'm sorry, giving 100% is not good enough. You have to have quality too. I've got nothing against Big Phil, he seems like a nice guy, but he wasn't good enough for Arsenal. To me, Perry Groves is more of an Arsenal legend than Senderos, but also not a favourite player of mine. From that era, my favourite would be Paul Merson probably. But back to Groves for a second, I never remember him letting the team down. I've seen Senderos virtually crying like a baby when he was knocked off the ball. He was no hard nut, despite his skinhead haircut. Like I said, a nice intelligent bloke, with some skill but no pace. And sadly not good enough for Arsenal. Like you though, I wish him well

17.21 post. Thats fair enough. No I just missed out on the pleasure of watching Blockley, as you point out giving 100% isn`t enough, thats why we are happy to release him, but surely you cant slag the geezer off for not quite being good enough. As long as a player gives his all thats all you can ask for, its then up to the manager to take the flak for picking him. I actually think big phil will do a decent job at Fulham, he just wasn`t quite Arsenal-ECL class. Maybe the title of your article should have been Senderos leaves Arsenal for Fulham- good luck

Yep, I can see what you mean about the title. It was a bit harsh, bearing in mind I do wish him well and therefore I make you right. He may well be a success at Fulham under Hodgson. You have to be quick to play in Arsenal's defence and clearly that was Phil's main problem. Fulham should suit him much more.
