Just when we thought we were safe, it looks like we'll sign Robert 'Gaffe' Green after all.

There I was thinking it'll never happen. West Ham's co-owner David Sullivan was muttering something about Green learning from his mistakes and then next thing I hear they're on the verge of signing a new keeper. Vitesse Arnhem's Piet Velthuizen, t be exact, according to reports in Holland.

The 23-year-old Holland international has been tracked for some time by Arsenal and may be available at a slightly discounted price as he is out of contract next year.

Velthuizen has been linked with Feyenoord, but was watched by an Arsenal scout as far back as January 2008.

However, it looks like West Ham have stolen a march on both Feyenoord and Arsenal by clinching a deal for the promising keeper.

So does that mean we're getting Green. I hope not!
