Van Der Sar out for 2 months

Edwin van der Sar, our first choice goalkeeper will be out for about two months after the Dutchman had surgery on a broken finger and bone in his left hand. He had sustained the injury during the penalty shoot-out against Bayern Munich during the Audi Cup finals.
While this is indeed a shocking blow to us, however, this will also be the perfect platform for Ben Foster to polish his skils, which otherwise are rare in Van Der Saar’s excellent presence and form. With the roller against Valencia and Chelsea coming up before the season kick starts we will have time to gather ourselves together for the absence of VDS.
Though not really my best hope but just to remind we do have Tomasz Kuszczak as the second in command goalkeeper in VDS’s absence. (Now did that actually relieve you or increase the tension!). On a more serious note we all know this is not the best of news but Ben has been a strong player in such situations. Also with Fergie giving clear hints of his pivotal role in the future as the numero uno goalkeeper at United, he will surely give all that he has to grab the most of the moment.
While for VDS, his earliest possible (obviously the most unlikely) date of return is 29 August. Get Well Soon VDS!
