Utter nonsense, High profile, selective bluster. Will there be a petition when the next player claims for a corner, goal kick, throw in etc they know is not their's?...move on.

Not nonsense - it is ridiculous in the modern age not to use technology when it is readily available. It will take seconds to check on disputed goals or penalties. FIFA should at least try it!!!!!

There is more money in football than in any other game - are you seriously suggesting that football can't afford it but other sports can? And it doesn't have to be at all levels if not practical, but at least for internationals, European matches and the top tiers of national football.At least Henry admitted it - the ref and the system is at fault.

Agree with Seagull that in big matches should be used modern technologies...football should be clean sport! Eddie: Henry is not a cheater, coz he admited his hand play, but of course that doesn't make him a hero! JB: Looks like your enjoying this kind of football, when players can cheat, i think you are cheater in life also :) And guess what: i said "to all football fans" and you're clearly not one of them, so fuck off!

so far, this kind of incident happens once every 25-30 years in big occasion events?!? that's ok. makes it fun. better to fix the punishment. since it was recorded on video, we should allow for the rsame eferee to punish the player post-match, for deceiving the referee. perhaps ban Henry for his handball - for ten official international games? but the scoreline will have to stay, though

@Ankur - The ball hit his arm and then he handled it a second time when he padded the ball with his hand. In any case, there will never be a rematch and so he doesn't gain any points in my eyes by calling for one. He is a great player, but has lost a lot of respect in my eyes, and i think in the eyes of a lot of others.

Agree with Dan...Ankur have you seen this handball moment a lot of times or just one??? Have you seen it from different camera angles??? It's just so OBVIOUS that henry did a second move wih his hand! No questions should be asked about that...and the way he celebrated after the goal doesn't show that he's sorry or feel bad about his f***ing hand!

oh ofcourse Henry should be banned........u guys say Henry isn't a cheater coz he admitted his hand play n wants a re-match........?but u know i just think,he has to admit......the hand ball was tooooo clear to hide!it wasn't suspicious so that if he admits we call it courage,he admitted just bcoz he had to do it...millions of ppl all of the world saw his shamful action.so just think,u wanted him to say that he's not responsible n then call him a cheater?actually we should called him a crazy if he denyed his handball.he's a cheater all in all....when he does that action n celebrates without any shame.....n abt rematch....it's impossible n Henry knows this,too.although in my opinion definetely a 30-mins game should be held again,but no way.FIFA never accept this.......(alot of respects to all of French ppl here....this is Henry's fault not their's.n we r just speaking abt Henry's action without considering his nationality)

I did not belive when the referee gave this gosl to France. And now that everyone has seen this footageHenry should be banned for 1 year and 3 points taken from France ;)

Focussing on Henry is missing the point. He should be punished for cheating but the point is that it should be done in the game!! It is wishful thinking to expect all players to be perfect and always admit when they do something wrong. If that was the case we wouldnt need any officials.Video technology must now be used - then the goal would not stand, Henry would have been punished in the game, his reputation and France's reputation would be intact and the name of the World Cup would not be muddied by this episode. I can't begin to understand any argument against at least trying it...
