The Footbo Euro 2008 survey
Por Raphael Honigstein

Who will win Euro 2008? Germany. Not the best players, not the best squad. But a team that functions, plays to its strengths and Ballack in the form of his life. And a draw so easy, it's unreal.

Runners-up? France. Not much betweem them an Italy but Cannavoro will be missed so I think the French will make it to the final.

Worst team? Austria, obviously. Followed by Sweden and Poland.

Most entertaining team? Pass it around until the ref blows the whistle-Spain, along with the Dutch, who can't defend at all. As seen in their 4-3 win over Austria.

Most boring team? Greece will fight this one out  with Poland.

New star? Not exactly new. But Benzema, Sneijder and Gomez should have big impacts. Maybe Nani as well.

Who will move after the Euro? Gomez to Barcelona, van der Vaart to whoever will have him and Huntelaar to Real Madrid

Leading goal-scorer? Gomez, by virtue of a hattrick v Poland.

Player of the tournament? Ballack and Ribery

Which manager will resign first? Beenhakker

I agree regarding Germany. The ys houdl win this time, especially since they have an easy group to play. Italy might come to the final, but I can also see a scenario in which they do not even make it to the next round. France is a big unknown for me. And Spain? Will be a dissapointment as always.

even though I supposedly know nothing about football, i can see portugal knocking germany out in the semi-final and spain winning the tournament. But I like the survey!

With Ruud as their point man, i see no reason for them not to make it to the finals, well as long as they dont have to score some penalties...

The Squadra Azura will kick German ass at the finals, with or without Cannavoro. Looks like two tournaments in a row for the Italians!

I was sure Italy will get to the final but w/o Cannavaro... will be hard

Germany? Let's see... an ancient goalkeeper who was kept out of his club side by some freak with bleach-blonde hair, a central defender who is as fragile as a Faberge' egg (and no good alternative on the bench), Kuranyi and Podolski threatening to come off the bench... think again, Rafi, think again...

Historically, we either win or fuck up terribly. In Jogi I trust, though. And I still think we're the team with least number of issues. And the draw, the draw, the draw...
