Is Bale a Duracell Bunny in Disguise?

Yesterday, I wrote a short preview about the Tottenham vs Inter Milan game.

Today, I get to write the review of a brilliant Champions League match. Tottenham blew Inter at of the water.

The result and the way in which it was achieved left Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp joking in a post-match interview that Gareth Bale was undergoing a dope test - clearly the regulatory authorities were left in awe at the young Welshman's ability to put the "best right back in the world" to the sword. If this morning, he read the Yahoo! Eurosport headline "Champions League - Bale orders taxi for Maicon", then he might just allow himself one more smile.

The Lillywhites started off well and made sure to close-down and pressure the Inter players throughout the match. The match stats at the end of the game showed that the Tottenham players had collectively run some 6km more than their Inter counterparts. And it showed.

The fitness levels of the players was there for all to see, especially that of the player getting all the praise today, Gareth Bale. Just seeing the player run and run and run couldn't help but bring associations with the Duracell bunny.

What a great poster boy he would be for the battery company - just when he looked knackered, the Welshman showed one last turn of incredible acceleration, speed and vision to set up the final Tottenham goal.

Each Tottenham player put in a good shift's work and the result was the just rewards.

Tottenham now sit on top of Group A, and a win in the next match will guarantee qualification to the next round of the Champions League. Qualification is now Tottenham's to lose.

COYS!

Run, run, run, run, run! Congratulations on the win. Maicon doesn't look himself in that match, but I'm sure its because of Bale's qualities

Thanks Dmitri! Maicon wasn't himself because I just don't think he knew how to handle Bale. He probably thought the hat-trick last time was a fluke.

Funny thing is that allot of people outside of Spurs still think that Bale is a left back, as a left back he is no better than Ekotto, makes mistakes at times and is a liability when going forward, but as a left Midfielder\WInger, he is a menace! This dude is already one of the best players in his position worldwide at just 21y. He is already allot better than he was last year. Bale is mark-able though, just keep 3 players on him and you are fine, lol
