RANGERS V SEVILLA - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREVIEW
Por Stewart
Round 2 in the Champions League group stages is  fast approaching with Scottish Champions Rangers playing Sevilla, a side that finished 3rd in arguably the best league in the world " La Liga" behind the two powerhouses Real Madrid and the all-conquering Barcelona. Sevilla, who are managed by Manuel Jimenez, go into this game on the back of a thumping victory over the Basque side Athletic Bilbao (4-0) at San Mames. Jimenez even had the luxury of resting half of his regular starting eleven for the game on Saturday night. However this luxury cannot be shared by Walter Smith, the Rangers manager, who after a summer of transfer inactivity has seen his squad depleted by injuries and most notably the need to sell players due to the awful financial situation the club currently finds itself in. 15 out and 1 in is not the business a club is looking to do going into a European campaign and recent results have reflected the poor situation. Three consecutive 0-0 draws in the league is not the form you want when your team is about to play Sevilla and arch-rivals Celtic on Saturday. However I am sure if you offered Smith and his team a 0-0 draw before the match, they would bite your hand off for it!
