From Petah Tikva to Portsmouth? Perhaps.

This post can be found at Never Captain Nicky Butt in its original format.

My lady friend summed it up perfectly when I relayed the new Avram Grant news: "Your alleged favorite team is getting your alleged favorite coach."

In related news, Grant appeared on a radio program in the UK this week and had this to say about loudmouth Jose Mourinho, his Chelsea predecessor: "Does it surprise you he opened his mouth? You go to a restaurant sometimes, you know why the fish is on the table? Because it opened its mouth."

I have no idea what that means. What I do know, however, is that if Grant takes over at Portsmouth - we are in for some fun post match press conferences and embedded Youtube videos. Let's hope he gets the job.

Don't forget - Grant brought the best out of Joe Cole at Chelsea - what Mourinho had always appeared to want to stifle and leave on the bench. Further, under Grant - Michael Ballack started to link up well with fantasy (fat) Frank Lampard - both scoring crucial goals in the Premier League and Champions League and rewarding fantasy premier league owners.

Perhaps Grant's return to Premier League management will be good news then, for those few Peter Crouch, Jemaine Pennant, or David Nugent owners.
