Today it begins. World Cup fever is on the way.
Following FIFA's final ruling against
Ireland
's plea to join the competition, it's time to get down to business.
Only a matter of hours remain before the World Cup draw takes place, and we will all know the destinies of the teams competing in
South Africa
in 2010.
We can all make assumptions of how the groups will end up, who will be in the "group of death", which teams we want our nation to face/avoid... From an English perspective, it was interesting to see that in a rehearsal for the draw itself,
England
were matched up with
Australia
,
Slovakia
and
Cameroon
. I would no doubt settle for this, and probably so would everyone in England. I for one, hope that we avoid the US and
Mexico
(I rate both these sides) but would love to see us take on
France
and try and bring some justice for the Irish (I am not being arrogant, even if that's how it sounds).
But who do you want to see in your national team's group? Or, if your country didn't make the grade and qualify for the World Cup, then who do you want to see go head-to-head in the group stages (your opinion still counts!)
The pots are:
Pot 1 (seeded teams)
South Africa (group A),
Argentina
,

, England,

,

,

.

.
Pot 4

.
Game on!!!

I really hope they would be group of death as it would make arleady promising exciting World Cup to be even better. Well, I am thinking of Spain - USA - Ivory Coast - France - Spain: is the best team in Europe and best in world among Brazil{maybe even better} - USA: After Confiderations cup last year you can't rule them out - Ivory Coast: I am bit skeptical about them not sure they would actually get many points but I am sure that they would play they best football which is worth watching at. And there is Drogba effect also -France: yes France is poor and they should NOT be in this tournament in first place. But it is chance of them to attempt to put themselves into world football map again, would they able to do so is another quesiton. Lol, I am talking like draw is arleady done. Well, teams which I support and nations I am related to didn't qualify: that is Russia(citizen- unlucky to get through}; Turkey{resident- losing too much cheap points} and Azerbaijan{my origin - and well i can always dream))} so I will support England as I am studying here for past 5 years. I don't want for England to have so-called dream group as it might affect to the performance knock-out, its hard to get playing good with strong teams after easy wins. I think following group would be fine to England: England - Australia - Uruquay - Denmark

Let the Irish fight for their own justice, you think they would care for us? Also France will be really fired up now to try and prove they deserve to be there.I just want an easy table for England - give us a chance to get started. New Zealand, Chile and Slovenia would be nice!
