All Hail the Greatest Cricketer on the Planet

When Sachin Tendulkar travelled to Pakistan to face one of the finest bowling attacks ever assembled in cricket, Michael Schumacher was yet to race a F1 car, Lance Armstrong had never been to the Tour de France, Diego Maradona was still the captain of a world champion Argentina team, Pete Sampras had never won a Grand Slam.

When Tendulkar embarked on a glorious career taming Imran and company, Roger Federer was a name unheard of; Lionel Messi was in his nappies, Usain Bolt was an unknown kid in the Jamaican backwaters. The Berlin Wall was still intact, USSR was one big, big country, Dr Manmohan Singh was yet to "open" the Nehruvian economy.

It seems while Time was having his toll on every individual on the face of this planet, he excused one man. Time stands frozen in front of Sachin Tendulkar. We have had champions, we have had legends, but we have never had another Sachin Tendulkar and we never will.

Are you serious? With all due respect to the man and his finest hour, but seriously you can also take a ride back into this little time machine of yours and find me a game when his TEAM needed him and and he actually delivered. Some men are made to make and break records and some men are just nothing but a trophy cabinet, above mentioned men were a different breed and class and Sachin, a great batsman, does NOT even come close to dust left by above mentioned men. You will not like this comment and when you do come down from your high of temp little man, actually do consider an apology for mentioning these men in sane blog as Sachin.

Comment addresses the writer not the poster, time magazine prints lots of things i'm sure you wouldn't agree with. It's called having an "opinion"o·pin·ion [uh-pin-yuh n] -noun 1. a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. 2. a personal view, attitude, or appraisal. 3. the formal expression of a professional judgment: to ask for a second medical opinion. 4. Law. the formal statement by a judge or court of the reasoning and the principles of law used in reaching a decision of a case. 5. a judgment or estimate of a person or thing with respect to character, merit, etc.: to forfeit someone's good opinion. 6. a favorable estimate; esteem: I haven't much of an opinion of him.

nas r u crzy??? or just one of those who wants to make a name by being "different", even bordering on stupidity. Having an opinion is different and giving worthless facts is different. To remind you, cricket is a team game. all the matches tht u ll point out that sachin has failed, well as a world cup finals in 2003, how much was india chasing. How many instances of punter playing a match winning innings when chasing something in excess of 300 in odi. You ll easily forget that Tendulkar was the same man in that world cup who scored a 98 against pakistan when india were chasing a target of 270 against a formidable attack. Since you just want to pose facts , lets start a stat war .

IN relation to Sachin not coming even close to federer or Bolt or Messi, the article just points out the unsatisfiable hunger and timelessness of Sachin. It points out that the heros of today were not even present when Sachin Tendulkar had started this herculean journey in cricket. Fyi, Sachin is still scoring the same amount of runs, he was scoring in the 1990-2000, then why is India winning more or at number 1 now, coz India is playing as a team. They have players to take 20 wickets in a match. So before showing how numbnuts your knowledge of cricket is, please look whom you are talking about.

Don't get your panties all in a bunch, stop with the name calling and personal insults. Commet was not meant to be a flame, I just remember way too many times when I was disappointed by his performance versus his persnal records, it was said with all due respect to him.

Nas, We love Sachin and seeing him ageless at the prime form of his career, is one of the greatest moments of our lives. We are just lucky enough to see him and thank god for letting us live in his time. That feeling cant be expressed in words. It is not about numbers or statistics or count of win or loss. I am a professional photographer and artist. Seeing Sachin at crease brings tears to my eyes, None of the artworks could evoke the same sensation in me. It is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. If you can't feel the same, I am sad about that, my brother. We have our Sachin, our hero from our own country, We don't have to look around the others corners of the world for a hero. Sachin is our own most valuable posession.

No need to make a case here, I am in complete agreement here and as I said earlier it was said with all due respect and I never intended to take anything away.
