The Crazy Nature of FIFA
Por dmitri
2018,FIFA world cup
After succumbing into a post-world cup depression, stuck in a Spartak Moscow limbo and the bipolar nature of the Russian national team roller-coaster, it must be said that a crazy week of world class football got me back on track as a fan of the big game.

First, it was the High Five drubbing of Real Madrid by Barcelona. When the world is still arguing about the better player between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Xavi Hernandez may enjoy his mushroom picking hobby on his own with the sweet memory of the last three seasons. First, he became a european champion as a national team player, then as a club team player. Finally, he won the world cup and led his club in a history defining el clasico in style. In his style. In his rubberstamped ISO certified playmaker of the decade. Who needs the Ballon d'Or?

And who would need the FIFA World Cup?

Don't get me wrong. Thanks to the support of my government, I got out of my depression, limbo and bipolar illness. Russia 2018 is the best piece of news I've heard in many months. And I'm glad FIFA is thus crazy, I don't care if they're corrupt either. I would pay any amount of money for a great festivity of football. South Africa probably bribed Blatter, Germany probably bribed FIFA too. But any normal person would want to host the world cup in his/her country.

Some journalists are extremely abnormal individuals, who would rather let other nations host a corrupt football, in the name of money saving and moral superiority. I hope the Premiership makes more money and produces more foreign players, because EPL and Champions League are so much better than the World Cup. Right.

Some people pay to buy Cristiano Ronaldo shirt, others pay to bring future Barcelona players to Russia.

Crazy. Magic. Football. Thank you FIFA.

Hit the right spot there! To go to war, you need to pay off people too, but even if FIFA wasn't bribed, I see nothing in giving the World Cup to places it has never been. We are jealous of the game, but we must also share, Middle East shouldn't be forgotten just because they can't produce top teams yet, this will allow them to, afterall, the USA took 8 years after 1994 to make an impact again on the World Cup, that is how you grow.

Nice to know that you agree, Stan. We wanted this so much. Maybe it should've been England/Scotland bid, that would've provided a 'legacy' viewpoint, an intention to share from the English side.

@Dmitri: COngratulations in getting the World Cup. I believe Russia is a good choice, while Qatar looks a bit strange. In any case I am sure in both cases (as always) much money was given to ther right channels :)

@Mani: yeah, I also think money is involved :) But why shouldn't Blatter and friends get paid in order to open new football markets? its within their power, and its normal for powerful decision makers to do so. I'm sure parliaments in every country conduct lobbying too. But I don't think the decision is based on money alone. Gossip is that Beckenbauer and Platini voted for Russia and Qatar. Surely they have other things in mind, not just an envelop of money. We might be speaking about rejecting Bin Hammam to become FIFA president in return for a world cup. And within 6 years, FIFA could still cancel 2022 world cup, citing lack of development. So we shouldn't be so naive.

FIFA has 208 member associations, three more than the International Olympic Committee and five fewer than the International Association of Athletics Federations. It is grand big organization for conducting the sport!!

@Dmitri - Congrats mate..And if CL indications are anything to go buy..Russians would give any team a run for their money..But Qatar, I am kinda surprised , A summer WC in the middle east wouldn't be comfy for players from most part of the globe...Or may be as Der Kaiser said , we could have a winter WC for a change ....

@Mike - thanks, mate. If Der Kaiser prefers a winter world cup, wouldn't that suits DFB and sucker punch for boxing day football?

congratulations, but I think fifa is a fraud and chose to Russia and Qatar because they wanted to steal more money, they rarely come just before the elections? just need to make the 203

Gracias. 2030 Argentina/Uruguay? Agree. About fraudulant FIFA, Maradona has been saying that and english press never believes. If England wins world cup host, national team will get to play in every country and Home of Football will give a present for everyone. I think they will parade the queen and prince during those football matches. But now that they have lost... cancel all the (wedding) plans
