Harry Redknapp describes Tottenham's trio of Croatians as 'a dream for any manager'
Por Dario

Luka Modric's recent return from a lengthy injury absence means all three - Luka, Niko Kranjcar and Vedran Corluka - could start in Sunday's huge match at Liverpool.

Luka and in-form Niko started together for the first time at Spurs in Saturday's convincing FA Cup win against Peterborough United at the Lane. Vedran, who has started 19 of our 25 matches in all competitions, was rested with Alan Hutton coming in for the 4-0 victory.

Niko stole the show with two goals including a 20-yard cracker to open the scoring.

"Luka's a super player and Niko's in great form as well," said Harry. "He scored twice and the first was a great goal, a typical Kranjcar goal. He's been fantastic since he's been here.

"When I first took Niko to Portsmouth Slaven Bilic (Croatian national coach) rated him very highly. We'd seen him and Slaven raved about him.

"Niko's a fantastic lad and so is Modric, both fantastic characters, they aren't a minute's problem. They get on with it. They have great football brains, great ability and Corluka is the same. The Croatians are a dream for any manager, they just love playing football.

"Luka and Niko play in-between the lines of the back four and midfield and they are so difficult to play against. They have that great ability to find space, to play a pass, to open teams up.

"They don't stand out and get marked, they come in to positions where you can't find them, in little holesthey do that so well. They were excellent on Saturday, two great footballers."

@Dario - good post! Tottenham is fast becoming the Croatian national team ;-) They are great players without doubt and each one has added something new to the Spurs team. Corluka is not the fastest player, but just composed on the ball, and more often then not comes away from a tackle with the ball. Modric is just genius (it's a shame he's been out injured)...but his absence has given Kranjcar the opportunity to show what he is capable of. And he's proven to be a ready-made solution to our long-term problem with the left side of midfield. Thanks!
