We’re almost at the end of the 1st round of the World Cup. At the time of writing, Spain are being held to a draw by Switzerland with the game at half-time.

The 2nd round of the group stages will kick-off later tonight when Uruguay take on hosts South Africa in Group A. It can still be considered early days as far as the tournament goes, and the impending 2nd round will no doubt give us more food for thought.

There haven’t been any major upsets as of yet, but there have been some interesting surprises. And no player has managed to set the stage on fire...just yet.

It's almost unimaginable that there won't be a player or two who every club around the world would be licking their lips at the thought of having them in their team; apart from the obvious no brainers (Messi, Inesta, Rooney and co.).

So who is it going to be? Or who will they be? Which players do you think will take it to the next level as the World Cup progresses? Will it be a younger player that steals the limelight? Or is it going to be a more experienced player who will demonstrate that they have matured into one of the world's best?
