brazil
vs cote d'ivoire live,
Dunga
After all the shocks and surprises in this World Cup sofar, one can't help but anxiously anticipate Brasil's performance in this afternoon's encounter with Cote D'iVoire! Will
Brazil
revive the traditional atmosphere of World Cup  or will Cote de Voire continue to highlight the new World Cup era where big time teams are continuously being humbled by formerly tagged "underdogs
"?

Of course Brasil will shine Florence, let's pray for sparkling football and a drubbing of the Ivorians. Forza Brasil

Brazil have returned to their traditional ways, the squad plays their beautiful football, and the Dunga touch is that these boys control the tempo/game instead of unchoreographically dancing through the match. Top marks for Dunga as his team thoroughly deserve favorite title, and he showed there is another plan to his game. But the obvious handball and play-acting of players, and church-boy Kaka's synicism is revolting. I'm afraid Brazil have turned into the ghetto thugs I thought they might've been. Maybe the French nationality of the referee helped. BTW, notice how often players handle the ball now? Serbia tried it once on the penalty box per game, Cannavaro tried his luck earlier today. It's becoming pathetic.

I disagree strongly my friend, yes, Fabiano did deliberately hand-ball, but I think Kaka' deserves more respect, you can't criticize him for his beliefs and faith. The idiot with the whistle was bullied in to sending him off by a bunch of play acting cheats. Drogba and his band of incapable pretenders belong in one group of teams, looking high up at teams like Spain and Brasil. In this world cup I have watched such awful teams petrified of losing, spoil the greatest spectacle in world sport with their cynicism and I'm sick of it. Brasil and several other teams, have tried to play good football, and they should be applauded and held up as examples to these weak, weak nations who don't belong in the same tournament, let alone the same pitch. I am feeling raw Dimitri, so don't take my angst personally, just venting my spleen and letting off steam. I was right about Melo, no?

Can't agree more- Brazil has revived the spectacle of the World Cup games even with all of the controversies that you two, Alcito and dmitri, have sited. By the way, great and explicit insights in both discussions!!! You opened my eyes to some new things I hadn't paid attention before... hope many others benefited!

in my opinion; i was really disappointed with two main things during last night's game... one was the physicality that got saturated unto it; and secondly, we were out of bacon; so i had to watch the match with milk and biscuits as my midnight snack(match lasts from 12:00 to 1:45 + stoppage time, AM)... in the first half; the physical play seemed exciting; a battle of two strong, fast and endurant teams, doing what they do best... but in the second half, the game worsened. the ivory coast, realising that the match is slipping away from them, started to get in personal and professional tiffs with brazilian players. kaka deserved the first yellow; for continuous fouling, but the second one was very harsh but the referee had no choice; because slowly; the ivorians had transisted from playing a physical game, to downright cheating... but putting these ugly themes aside; i do seem to be concerned about brazil's defence; or more importantly their fullbacks. bastos is an attack minded player; and he is leaving gaps when foraying forward, but even so with a natural defender (yet somewhat naive) maicon. especially maicon, as both goals(of ivory coast and korea dpr) came from his side... also, i was shocked at the static movement of the centre-backs and melo for ivory coasts goal. as drogba glided in, no one seemed to notice or even mark him. it was a shocking goal for the "thugs" to concede... lets hope brazil sort it out when they meet stronger opponents. as of now; im off to he market. i need bacon...

Alcito, I'm comparing the game's incident with what happened to Zidane and Maradona in the past. I'm sure they believe in prophets, too, as do suicide bombers. The only way to put right what Kaka and Fabiano did, is to have them create beauty after beauty from now on. I'm sure they can and we'll all be happy to see it. Agree about other teams being cynical, and that Melo is looking good last night.

What did Kaka' do? He was the victim of cheating, he did nothing, the Ivorian cheat should be banned.

Kaka elbowed a player, and pretended to have done nothing. Zidane headbutted Materazzi and left the field without pretending. As for Ivorian cheats, sure they were pathetic, too. I haven;t seen them write prophet names, though...

Let's agree to disagree, Kaka' never elbowed anyone, I thought that was obvious from the replay, I don't know anyone but you and the ref, who wasn't even looking, who saw otherwise. I can't belive you were sucked in by those cheating Africans.

kaka's elbow seems to be a hot topic here.... personally, i didnt think kaka meant any real harm when he raised his arm to the level where it was where keita ran into it. and the theatrics that keita then assumed would have gotten anyone sent off. and if he had winked at the bench, it wouldve completed the deja-vu... and kaka had understood that he was getting the yellow anyways; i kinda liked his slow-but-dramatic walk away from the crime scene(some say, he was bewildered and was aiming to hide behind the goal posts, but i dont think thats the case)... but in the end; it was indeed unfair; coz it takes the sheen out of phoenix's return(which is another case of daja-vu) anyone remember zidane, in d 2006 world cup..? what are the chances of kaka head-butting someone in the finals???

The Ivorians lost. What have I got to complain about that? Justice served. Yes, I was wrong to point it out. Kaka got his justice. He was sent off. He should only create beauty from now on, or keep his underpants white from all bold black letters

Great, we look forward to the remainder of the games. Hope we don't see some of the above mentioned miistakes being repeated. Strong points? May they be strengthened more. Enjoy USA vs Algeria tomorrow!!!
