Carlos Tevez.........

The Daily Mirror claims Carlos Tevez will complete his £25.5 million move in the coming days, but had decided to leave Old Trafford over two weeks ago based on his belief that Sir Alex Ferguson did not rate him enough to make him a first choice player.

News that Tevez would not return for United's pre-season training broke over the weekend after the club announced he had rejected the offer of a five-year contract. City meanwhile are thought to have tabled a deal worth over £100,000-a-week over five years.

It is also being reported that Ferguson was aware of Tevez's decision to go and as such has been on the hunt for a suitable replacement ever since. So far, United have been linked with signing Wigan's Antonio Valencia, Karim Benzema and Franck Ribery this summer using the £80m generated through the almost complete sale of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tevez's arrival at City stands to cast a degree of doubt over the future of Robinho, who, after one season in the Premier League, may find himself as Mark Hughes' third choice striker behind the Argentine and Craig Bellamy.

I do not understand why they let him go. I really like him, but maybe he is similar in style to Rooney. It is a shame he goes to City. They have money, but no future.

@ Mani - Tev is one of a dying breed. He will run himself into the ground purely for the good of the team and NOT for personal glory. I just wish there were many more like him.

@ Sam - He was a great servant for United and saved our skins on more than one occassion.

@Carly: I agree. That is why I think they should get Ribery now (although obviouslly as a Bayern Fan I'd like him to stay). Ribery jus does not stop running and he is a real fighter and wants to always win.

Huge mistake on our part for letting him go. He was never going to come cheap, but just look at the amount of money being thrown around these days. In my opinion, Tevez is worth the investment. He proved that he wants to be a Manchester United player through and through and we should have showed him the loyalty in return.

how cum ppl always say dat city have no future? from what i can see, they have a decent manger, good facilities, and a good team... yeah maybe they lack good youth players, but that can change in the near future... give them time....

Carly: I see you have a bond for Tevez, how come you wrote on my blog that he wasn't worth the investment? In any case, I'm happy to see that you and other Man Utd fans wish him the best and are grateful for what he gave to the team! Still, Danny's words are the very definition of the case. And yes, its a pitty he'll go to City - I would have even prefered he goes to Chelsea, cause I don't see City winning the Premier or playing finals of the Champions, which is more of Carlito's level.

A truly world class player, tevez has been an outstanding servant for manutd for the past 2 years...As a manutd fan, i would like to thank him for making the matches held in 2 years memorable...Wont forget the last ditch goals that saved us many times...its hard 2 digest that he'll be a "Citizen" next season...all the best carlitos..Now SAF has to bring in a few quality players(whether known or unknown)...
