The second I was sitting towrite this post and praise their way of playing, the French national team equalized. The goal was quite an accident, untypical to the stylish French play. Here are a few thoughts after watching some matches of the Women's World Cup, including the thrilling, magnificent quarter final between the USA and Brazil:
1. Â Â Â Defensive tactical play seems rather week, comparing to men's football. There's a lot of space anywhere on the pitch, which makes the game fast and, in many cases, more exciting.
2. Â Â Â The game rarely stops. Hardly any fouls are called. Simulations and dirty plays are rare, and the spirit of the game is very competitive, yet somehow friendly. It's pretty cool.
3. Â Â Â The French team has tons of style and technique. Their passing game reminds some of the best teams in the world.Â
4. Â Â Â Give them the athletic capabilities of men, and I think the French women can outplay the French men team of the recent years.
5.   The USA team has unbelievable spirit. They will fight to the end. You can never rule them out, even when they are completely outplayed.Â
6.   USA just went 2:1 up. Abby Wambach, a header, as usual. Outplayed my butt…  Â
7. Â Â I started with big doubts, but got hooked. At least in its final stages, the Women's World Cup is a great tournament. If you really love the game, watch the final!Â
8.   20:40 – the USA just went 3:1 up...   Â
