Luis Suarez of Ajax looks set to join Spurs. Tottenham's former Martin Jol (now Ajax boss) has confirmed Spurs were in touch last winter about the 23-year-old Uruguay international. Suarez is prolific in the Dutch league, so shouldn't Arsenal think about making a bid for the Ajaz striker? If Arsenal did take an interest it would push the price up at least, so it might be worth scouting him for that reason alone.
Meanwhile, Jol has denied taking a pop at Spurs and saying Suarez is too good for them. Usually, when you hear that sort of thing the player in question ends up at Arsenal, doesn't he? Or am I just kidding myself?
